Seventh class (April 1st)
Summary
We spent most of the seventh class on the remainder of chapter 6 and the start of chapter 7.
By now you should be familiar with:
-
The use of the accusative case (-n) to show motion towards a thing or place:
- with nouns (La kato saltis sur la tablon)
- and adverbs (Ni iris hejmen)
- and with kie and tie (Kien ŝi veturis?)
-
The use of prepositions de and el for showing movement from a place.
-
The verb ending -u
-
The suffixes -uj and -an and their multiple meanings.
Homework
- Read chapter 7 of the text (La veterprognozo) and do the exercises.
Handouts
-
Names for parts of the face, to go with the introduction in Mazi of names for parts of the body.
-
La tri kaproj, a short children’s story you should be able to read by now. It makes heavy use of the suffixes -et and -eg from chapter 4.
-
A slightly risqué joke making (mis)use of the accusative ending -n.
