Fifteenth class (June 3rd)

Summary

We reviewed answers from the second half of chapter 11, and then took a quick sprint through the active participles in chapter 12.

Next Monday’s class will be our final meeting of the (extended) Spring semester. In the fall we’ll be restarting the weekly conversation hour where both beginners and continuing students can practice the language in an informal environment.

• Esperanto: Learning and Using the International Language
  A textbook by David Richardson, in PDF form. Most valuable is the third part of the book – a graded Esperanto reader. After each reading, Richardson explains some of its more difficult turns of phrase or elements of grammar.

Media/links

• Facilaj artikoloj en Esperanto
  A variety of articles written in “easy” Esperanto, using the most common roots wherever possible, and providing definitions for any uncommon ones.

• Ekparolu!
  Ekparolu! allows you to practice speaking and understanding spoken Esperanto. Students sign up as genevoj, and then they can request free half-hour Skype-sessions with a set of geonkloj around the world. It’s free, and the geonkloj are all experienced speakers who have been screened for proficiency; most have been certified under the EU’s CEFR framework at level B2 or higher.
